Located at Moffett Federal Field in the heart of Silicon Valley since 1984, the 129th Rescue Wing performs combat search and rescue anywhere in the world. The 129th, having saved over 300 lives to date, has performed a wide variety of civilian search and rescue missions. Crews from the 129th Rescue Squadron are certified to perform water bucket operations in support of firefighting operations. This project consolidated the pararescue, the life support, and survivable equipment functions into one 63,000 sq. ft. facility. Functional areas include administrative and support space, mobility equipment, storage areas, and two towers to hang parachutes to dry after cleaning and washing.

Reporting to the Base Civil Engineer, M-B provided full-time construction management services performing construction management (CM) and project monitoring duties in support of the 129th with a Senior Construction Manager and a Scheduling, Cost estimating specialist. The CM monitored the contractor’s performance for compliance with contract terms and conditions, work schedules, safety standards, and environmental requirements. Our services included performing design reviews, reviewing shop drawings and updating as-built drawings, developing cost estimates for change orders, developing short statements of work and drafting sketches to support change orders and contract modifications for assigned projects. M-B performed detailed pre-construction site surveys, developed budget level work schedules, coordinated pre-final and final inspections, and assisted in punch lists development.
