Andersen Air Force Base, Guam, as part of the Joint Region Marianas Command and considered one of the most scenic of all U.S. Air Force Bases, was chosen to host numerous projects in support of DPRI. MacDonald-Bedford assisted with these projects which included the development of training ranges, ammunition depots, aviation facilities, and a $185M new family housing complex.

Assistance to projects supporting the nearby Marine Corps Base Camp Blaz included several new hangers for the Marine Aviation Logistics Squadron (MALS) at North Field. The MALS mission is to provide aviation logistics support, guidance, planning, and direction to Marine Aircraft Group squadrons. The MALS facilities included an administrative office, general purpose warehouse, an airframes shop, hazardous materials storage and a two-bay corrosion control hangar. The $185M innovative pre-cast concrete family housing duplexes have been designed to withstand typhoons and seismic forces typical for the region while providing energy-efficient systems to sustain Guam's tropical weather. The Mason Live-Fire Training Range Complex on the northwest tip of AAFB straddling the Pacific Ocean are the only ranges on this island or in this region that accommodate the Marine Corps training requirements.

MacDonald-Bedford provided licensed professional engineers to work through design reviews and subsequent change order requests as well as construction oversight engineers (COE) for construction surveillance. MacDonald-Bedford’s skilled engineers managed all aspects of design and construction.

For the Air Force, M-B supported the 36th Civil Engineer Squadron with Program Management of its Munitions and Explosives of Concern (MEC) program as well as a Quality Assurance technician for MEC activities on this former World War II site of armed conflict.
